A few days ago, I shared that Starbucks is celebrating its 40th Birthday by creating a new drink, a new coffee blend and adding mini desserts. In honor of its Birthday celebration, Starbucks gave away a free Starbucks petite with the purchase of a handcrafted Starbucks drink during the last three days. For those that didn’t get a chance to take advantage of this offer, I wanted to provide a review of my experience.
I waited until the very last minute to take advantage of this promotion, but today during our walk, hubby and I strolled into our local Starbucks to try out the new Starbucks petites and the new drink. We both had the same things so that we can fully enjoy our individual desserts.
We each had a tall Cocoa Cappuccino with non-fat milk (120 calorie for 12 oz.) and …
…Red Velvet Whoopie Pies (190 calories each)
I am a big fan of chocolaty drinks, so the Cocoa Cappuccino was right up my ally. I know that it’s not a drink for everyone, as it could be on the sweet side. But I enjoyed the chocolaty flavor with a hint of bitterness of coffee. Hubby and I both enjoyed the Red Velvet Whoopie Pies. They are just the perfect size, with cream cheese frosting sandwiched between two soft, red velvet cookies. Two thumbs up from us on both the drink and the pastry. I am looking forward to trying out the rest of the Starbucks Petites.
Did you try out the new Starbucks products? If so, what are your impressions?
