A new adventure…

14 Aug

The last few weeks I spent a lot of time thinking about my hobbies. I don’t know why I didn’t consider this before, but I love food (eating in particular) and over the last few years I’ve gotten into cooking more and more. I also love photography. Why not combine it into a great project?

A friend of my is a big foodie and big on cooking up a storm and experimenting with new dishes. After talking things over with her, we decided to collaborate on this new project. The idea being that I photograph her cooking endeavors and of course share them with you. We might even share the recipes.

So what’s a food blog post without a photograph of food? Well here is a little something from the past to start you off with. This isn’t a recipe but something mouth watering…

See you back here in a few weeks for the unvailing of our first dish!

Book Club Blog

29 Jul

My husband and I have been reading a lot lately.  When we read the same book we like to discuss our likes and dislikes in relation to the book.

We suggested a book club to our friends and they were somewhat receptive to it. However, not everyone is interested in the same topics, so it was a bit difficult in agreeing on the book.

We thought it would be a good idea to create a Book Club blog. We’ll post the book we’re currently reading and anyone who is interested can join in and then comment on the book once they’ve read it. There are no commitments and new book suggestions are obviously welcome.

I would like to incorporate it as part of this blog. While I figure out the best way to do so, here is the first book on our list:

Happy reading everyone!

Espania!

07 Jul

Yes I know, I am a terrible blogger. I do want to say thank you to the occasional stragglers that peek into this blog. To make up for being MIA, I am going to put up TWO posts today!

One being from Spain. Spain is gorgeous. Favorite city you ask? Definitely Barcelona! (Now you know what the poll was about ;) ) So here we go, some highlights from Espania…

Some oldies….

02 Feb

I’ve been scouring through my computer and came up on some photos I took a while back. A lot of these were taken when I first exhibited an interest in photography and capturing all those things around me. Here are some of those everyday moments…through my eyes…

What's your favorite Spanish City?

29 Jan

This post is a bit off topic of photography…but I was curious what all of you think of Spain. This poll would be appropriate to those that have been there.

Can’t wait to hear your responses!!!

Beautiful Costa Rica

25 Oct

Well, once again I’ve been MIA for a while. As my friend says I am a terrible blogger. Although I’d like to think that even though I might not blog all the time…I keep things interesting :) So here is another one for you. A couple of months ago we took a trip to Costa Rica. I saw some really cool animals and insects that I’ve never seen so up close. Costa Rica is gorgeous, I even got my version of the stereotypical vacation photo :) Here goes…During our stay in Costa Rica we took a trip down the river in the jungle and checked out some of jungle life….I’ve never seen so many iguanas (did you know that iguanas eat bananas?)

We also saw some pretty cool gigantic grasshoppers. Here are a few for your viewing pleasure…

These grasshoppers hide a little hint of color under their wings. Our guide revealed it for us. Who would have known…

Finally, here is my version of paradise:)

Camping…

23 Jun

This weekend a bunch of us went camping. We got pretty lucky with the weather (even though it did sprinkle a little during the second day) and the views were beautiful. I wanted to share some snippets from the weekend with you…

We set around a beautiful fire…

…and what’s a camping trip without a little boating?

And finally, this is what happens when you go camping to an uncivilized campground…

…with no restroom in sight:)

A Day in San Francisco with Veronica and Isaac

13 Jun

I’ve been on a mini vacation this week and decided to spend a day with my friend Veronica and her son Isaac. We went to San Francisco and enjoyed our day in Crissy Field and in the Marina. There are great views of the Exploratorium from Crissy Field.

While we had lunch and as Isaac was enjoying his turkey sandwich,

a little visitor stopped by for a visit.
